The Project

The T3 – Grande Stade project was aimed at extending the T3 tramway to the sports stadium in Décines-Charpieux in the Lyon region. The project included disconnecting and reconnecting the existing line, creating a tramway platform with facilities for bike/foot traffic, developing the Grand Stade tramway station and creating a road crossing.
This crossing involved:

  • dropping the road, creating a 146 m covered section and two ramps (90 m and 60 m) for the tramway and a pedestrian walkway,
  • creating a concealed floor lifting unit,
  • building concealed technical facilities (a tramway substation),
  • creating a two-storey control room and a sunken courtyard.
